listen
as silence –
translation becomes
sound to the stutter
of once blushing lips
waiting
the tell-tale
signs of confession
breath into life
such as this
given to promise
one language to keep
sweet as the heart
to divine
longing shall linger
as songs to the wind
or prayers
on the tongue –
for a time
blest in beginning
without thought for verse
or voices to snare
each regret
echoes
though quiet
shall ring on for days
made louder
by words
never said
. . .
Silence is powerful.
Yes it is, James…….. I’ve often wondered if Poets are the only ones to hear the words pressed between. Thank you so much. ~ My love ever, Bobbie
I’m listening… And I like this a lot, Bobbie.

Once one reads your words, it is so very hard to ever turn away…for your words are aways so enchanting! Beautifully done Bobbie…much love to you!
I am truly blessed that you wouldn’t turn away, Wendell, that always you find your way to my words again. Thank you, sweet brother. ~ My love, Bobbie
“Words never said” can indeed become a deafening silence. And then there is that restful silence, when words do not need to be uttered. This poem covers the spectrum of silence so splendidly. Love, Dee
Ahh, yes, the silence that only a Poet can hear…….. I love those words, Dee. ~ Love you, Me
