say my name
this one more time
the way you did that day
as shadows fell
and mixed with maple leaf

as echoes
just becoming
I would gather
from that place
and wonder more than why
the sunlight played

in prisms
of a rainbow
in tenderness (desire)
were memories I’d sworn
to never speak

of where to go
or will to keep
the notion of forever
a time no longer ours
no longer come

eternities
I’ve known a few –
but that one is my favorite
stretched to hold
a lifetime
more or less

remembered now
a moment
made from everything –
was given word
tho something more
unsaid

a shimmering
of sunlight –
reflection in your eyes
reminder of a place
I’d known before

say my name
this one more time
the way you did
that day
