forgive me now
this coming back
to find an understanding
of where I stood
e’en now the ground is warm
the barn is leaning further
than I thought it would in May
but now ~ so clearly now
I see the moon
forgotten yet
the pain to leave
a tear-stained sunday morning
roads to walk
alone and back again
just beyond the church bells
ring ~
vows not worth the sermon
echoing of words
were tasted new
take me now
before the first of
winter’s velvet stillness
and nights
when still I burn
with thoughts of you
cellar doors
and broken steps ~
thirteen miles to nowhere
lines to run both ways
are never true
say it ~
say it softly
speak my name
aloud
murmur in the dark
so I might hear
and know of times uncertain
as rain between the stars ~
aware of other times
you held me near
whisper as another
time has passed into
everafter promised me a place
I always knew
would come again
a house without a door ~
windows facing south
to hide the barn
Feelings, thoughts, and memories of other times and places we have been, and people… A lot of nostalgia and introspection between these lines. Beautifully written Bobbie, and I liked it a lot.
…. ~Always~

Thank you. These are the pieces I tend to love most, words spilled of ink from another time and place ~ across eternities. Thank you, Paul. ~ Much love, Bobbie
The perfect photo and the perfect verse to bring it to life.
Thanks, Seb. I am so glad you liked it. I struggled with the right image. I wanted something with both moon and barn (but not just any barn), and ultimately it was between two but the other had way more chickens than I was comfortable with! 😀 Thank you…….. ~ Love, Me
Sweet reflection can arouse the flames of desire bringing dormant feelings within to shine radiantly once again. It is funny how they have never gone away, just our hope of a better life tommorrow can bring them to live and blossom fervently again! I love your poem Bobbie. I always say you are truly great at what you say and share from your noble heart!
You’re so right, Wendell. We cannot imagine ourselves without touching those pieces of our life that are carried within our heart (within our soul). Always, they are ours ~ our blessings, our truth, our home……….. Thank you! ~ Love you so, Bobbie
so much more as I read the lines within lines
at least for me….
memories balance me with what I am so grateful to have been blessed within this time I am here….
another *sigh* one…in a quiet breath …..
Thank you for always being there as you….
Take Care…
love to you
