what of my love
wasn’t meant to be whispered
no matter what they might say
of destinies loosed
by the hands of forgiveness ~
let all that I knew
fall away
might truth bear me witness
or time stand me still
years pass and death be my lot
was lonely
my only ~
the one I deserve
of longing shall bury me not
would lay to my burden
the weight of this curse
if ever a fleeting
desire
was sworn me protection
when secrets were shared ~
and I as a vapor to fire
unravel this message
committed as song ~
when given at last my release
mourn not my loss
for one moment more
or beg these inflections to ease
might sorrows be lifted
or verses betray ~
confessions of innocent pen
will love be remembered
always to the past
for touch we have failed
to defend
whatever our reasons
for living returned ~
when wandered to places
unknown
as trusted no other
my whispers to keep ~
eternal these echoes to own
Wandering through words and lines
trying to feel and understand
the feelings, thoughts and the designs.
Is it simple…, or is it something grand?
Questions…
Liked it, Bobbie, but I’m holding comment for a while. Like tasting a good wine, first comes the bouquet, then the flavor, and finally the subtlety of the aftertaste. I’m stuck on the flavor right now.
~xo~ always,
Paul
Be careful; those vowels can be sharp! 🙂 ~ Thank you, Paul. ~ Love, B
