lost to the passing
of dark into day ~
as starlight
of dew
bittersweet
breathed
a beginning
how easily done ~
as chill to
the sweat of defeat
a number
a name ~
ascribed to the winds
an essence remaining
somewhere
tender assault
on my favorite time ~
quietly
finding you there
stitched to the back
of lids ~
where I’ve kept
places and times
we will meet
music sometimes
when the words
fall apart
forgiven the path
of retreat
lifelines
are stretched
from one to the next ~
a glimmer of someone
I knew
where are you now
I wonder all morning ~
as twilight
lays wet on the dew
The deep longing that stays in one’s heart, often brings lonely moments, where thoughts explode in a loud crescendo of emotion as one wonders if they are still loved, and if they are, why can’t a heart feel the sweet embrace of a single word’s sweet essence…that with its touch says, ‘I love you’, ‘I miss you’ ‘I need you’, to bring back sweet sanity to life. Always so passionate are your insightful words of light as they sing words of sweet longing to an absent and missing love! Making the moment come to life magically in the minds and imaginations of many readers. Awesome poem Bobbie!
……there’s what I believe, and beyond that what I know. We don’t miss what we don’t love. ~ Always, Bobbie
beautiful, etched like fine word carvings….loved it, Linda
Thank you, Linda……….. I love you, and good morning! ~ Bobbie
Bobbie! Amazing rhythm and I love how the ending words rhyme in each pair of succeeding stanzas. Clever poetic construction! And of course the voice of longing in the poem is the melodic cello resounding and reverberating throughout. Love, Dee
Thank you, Dee. I am so very glad you like this………as I do. 🙂 ~ Love to you, Bobbie
