left as the morning
was dried from the roses
and last night’s confession
absolved by the sun
drove just as heaven
found dirt in Kentucky
and slowed not the heart
getting on
another night’s rest
much better than last
with nothing much left to extole
would spend not remorse on
choices once made
or the etch of their worth
to my soul
was innocence lost
in my rush to believe
or blinders my color of eyes
a white picket fence
did its best to persuade
of reasons
for staying behind
another day gone
as the truth to set free
sooner or later was lost
the plan to give more
that I had to affirm
of dreams
I can barely recall
the pillow made dark
by yesterday tears ~
mascara I cared not concede
even now as the last glimpse
of night disappears
in the rearview mirror
I see
the highway sings
of whiskey and wishes
a favorite song made right
who I am now
didn’t matter much then
as last night’s confession
absolved by the sun
I feel this all over very visceral….
O, thank you so much, my dear. I’m glad it spoke to you. ~ Love, Bobbie
Really meaningful, especially if you’ve traveled this road and its experiences. Messages well put, Bobbie. Really stirs the soul to thought.
….always,
Paul
Or to a roadtrip!? xoxox ~ Bobbie

Just Love it! Linda
Well……….ever so slightly different. Night before last I was awakened two separate times by a loud thump only to find a picture of my grandmother had ‘jumped’ off the wall in the hall (twice). I finally assumed there was something she needed to talk about and so I stayed up. She was often quick to think it time to either ‘break the plate’ or ‘take the bed down’ (both signs of severed ties). I have boxes filled with half-photos of her. You guessed it, she would get mad and rip people from both her photos and her life. Crazy woman……but I loved (still love) her. This was for her……. Thank you, Linda. ~ Much love, Bobbie
A heightened piece and a great picture to accompany
Thank you, Seb. You touch my heart. ~ Much love, Bobbie
