within this veil
of consequence –
sorrows steal the light
as plastic roses
wilt the sun to grey
where tears can drown
the perfect sound –
of living come again
a place beside

reserved for us –
as for the dreamer prayed

and choirs are singing
gather me –
beyond the river wide
a life or two
by those to know
the shepherd comes again
to stand behind (to walk before)
the one with need
to fall

a sweeter sound
as music where there was
but one to hear –
as folded hands
return with truth for all

keeper of
these moments –
of unseen evidence
skies rolled back
(and who am I to see)
angels breaking bread
are congregating –

as others wait
