it seemed a moment longer
than a thought had passed away
and silver spun
around my fingertips
eyes grown dimmer
by the sun
nights I rubbed them red
swore a curse I couldn’t lift
again
but kneeled the same
as once before –
and begged to rusty nails
might daylight ease my longing
fore I go
to know of other lives
and where they went
without direction –
stronger for the truth
I stumbled on
there is no salve
in looking back
(if only to remember)
what makes no difference now
but for days
to mark between –
were not for them
who knows –
where goes the road
we missed returning
a pause beneath the willow
ageless rocks
to sit below
free the past
from keeping more
than reasons to remind us –
knew we not by name
another time
kneel with me
where shadows fall
across the dreamer’s slumber
speak to me of fate
and ways to home –
cross the stitch
to fill the void –
evermore to answer
bless my prayer for mercy –
let me wake within
the dream
Especially lovely and tender…”kneel with me where shadows fall across the dreamer’s slumber”, in your writing I feel a vulnerable but determined and mighty heart. Love, Linda
Linda, some of the most tender hearts are also the toughest. I’m convinced the greatest warriors bleed in tears. Thank you for your love and your kindness. ~ Always, Bobbie
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream. ~D
~ and still to wonder which is real ~ Thank you, Dan. ~ Love, B
Well, this has a special wholeness to it, a mystical journey of the heart through the many dreams of life the ones we sleep with and the ones we walk with … someday we will all wake within the dream … 😉 -gs
Indeed, as the dream surely lives to wake within us. 😉 Thank you. ~ Love, Bobbie
The sheer beauty of your writings, suspend my mind in gorgeous thoughts and places! A small town boy by nature, i have always loved Nature in its perfect everyday glory which she would always share with me…You share that same beauty all the time from your heart’s dreams. It is always a beautiful ride!
Thanks, Wendell. You’re welcome to come along anytime you wish. I’ll be glad to bring a wagon if needed! Be well, and be love. ~ Bobbie
