remembered now
as time when time was lost
voices boomed from somewhere
I don’t know
plans were changed and schedules made
for consequence uncertain
I’d meant to stand
and watch your essence fade
but instead – it was the universe
willed another way –
and knew it then
was more than I could do
moments staring blankly
at the movement made by hands
tides were turning (backwards)
to the moon
eternal tears – immortal place
dreams of letting go
and wished I (more than once)
for one more life
for holding near (holding on)
pages to the wind
words (a bittersweet)
upon my tongue
unexpected destinies
changed by more than birth
forever penned a moment
to my soul
You are too very talented that is why you are precious to me! I nominated you last night for The Versatile Blogger Award! You are deserving of it because you always move the hearts of many with your words and you are a bright light in our blogsphere! Congratulations my friend! And I know there will be many more to come!
Wendell, you make my heart soar! Thank you so much – for not only reading, but for believing – for knowing. Love you, Bobbie (btw….I think comments I’m leaving for you lately are going to your spam folder since they’re suddenly not showing up on your items). I know because I have to check mine every day now. 😦 Thank you again! Love, Bobbie
really stirring; beautiful! Love, Linda
Thank you, Linda. As I was posting this, I thought of you and how you would have a beautiful picture with this of a scarlet ribbon………. You’re so kind and I appreciate you so much! ~ Love you, Bobbie
thanks, over the years, my photo collection is about one thousand or maybe more! It is a great resource to have and I really how photos invoke the senses! More important, for a writer, A photo, even “ones in your memory and heart”, can invoke feelings that are strong and bring up inner images from the heart and soul. Then, it is that which you write about…..
decisions, consequences, moving on, staying where we are…one life isn’t enough, or is it? This makes me stop and think about choices more deeply.
One life surely isn’t enough, and that’s why we dream and we write……….to live those other lives. It’s certainly easier in retrospect, but that doesn’t really work. Because if you had made another choice ten years ago, you might not be here (which means you wouldn’t know what you know now). If I cannot change the fact that I had waffles for breakfast, I certainly cannot unmake a bad decision, erase the betrayal of a friend, or board a ship that left port twenty years ago. And yet, always we are in those places, and always our wandering allows us room for ‘what if’…. Thank you, dear Jeannie. I’m so glad you like this, and that it gave you a moment or two to think (that’s always a good thing). ~ Love you, B (btw….all this knowing and unknowing is making me a little dizzy) 😉
