spirits curse
to know the pain
beyond the silk of scars
no more these pangs
of innocence
of wishes raised to stars

a last request
for healing hands
would come as need to prayer
before the cross
(forgiven now)
when left our love
somewhere

as joy
restored from wandering
down this lonesome road (begin)
would cleave us to another
else we choose this way
again

to lace the night
with ribbons
else the poet wonder why
we dreamed
that we were angels lost
silver birds
against the sky
