how thick this mortal
silence grows
as ignorance defends
the way of fear,
and who’s to blame
for dying

confession dons
a wedding dress –
and waits the night
to find her
some hope to buy
when faith has failed again

surrender to the fairest
and none for less
will come
when counseled by their fate –
uncertain signs

distracted by the shining
thought it was their sin –
slept beyond the time
to understand

of resolutions
only one
pretends to seek the answers
stirred but for a moment
to the past

awaits the veil of innocence
a crown
to surely come
as light between the limbs
of majesty

would stow the sword
and bend the plow
raise as truth – the dying
revealed to us –
the worthiness of tears

a breath denied
to loving hearts –
blows freely to the plain
reminders of the path
so few have known

the way of life
spreads light into the dark
as wisdom waits
the longest night –
a wedding to attend
