Heaven
the place you were going
without ever knowing –
of paths come between.
Stood here
for years alone
ten thousand miles from home.
I was waiting this
time to return.
Easy
when came to believing
of times you were leaving
whispers to my soul.
When gave
your song away
so much I couldn’t say
you needed to hear –
promise to be.
Always
a dream you talked about
before your time ran out
with flowers in hand.
Trusting the noonday sun
with things we might have done
had the world been ours –
will to become.
Golden
fingers of summer heat
puddle around our feet –
a blanket to share.
Communion
with passing stars –
nothing but breath and mars.
Words I heard you say
I’ll never know.
Sunset
glows in the evening rain
twilight her sweet refrain
of just holding on.
Whatever waits me now
as lifetimes we allow.
My words entreating –
love me again.
Yes, love me again, one that I work for, wait for, hold in my heart always! Wonderful poem that blessed my heart today!
Rose, love is endearing to us ~ and always a thought away ~ for it is there we hold and touch and share ~ in whatever ways we have left. Being human means we must accept the possibility of losing everything we love best in the world. But for love, would you ask to be anything else? Not a chance. We were breathed into life by LOVE ~ and surely, without it, we would die. Thank you. ~ Much love, Bobbie
Poignant and bittersweet, about a love about to leave, and the holding on to moments while they last (this was how I read the verses)
Thanks, Dee…………actually this is about love leaving, love staying, and love coming home…….. Does that make sense? Love is always with us. It never leaves (nor should it). We let love go and it becomes more for the ability to fly………. Love you and thank you! ~ Always, Bobbie
I agree wholeheartedly with Granbee: a wonderful poem!
Thank you so much, Angela. I am truly blessed by such a circle of amazing and loving women! ~ Love, Bobbie
Beautiful, mystical and a poem to read again and again! I loved it, Bobbie!
Thank you, Linda…….. You are way too kind! ~ Love you, B
