these hands
remember everything
e’en when my brain resigns
the memory of gift –
of skin
beholding skin
all that I’ve known
loved and more
blessed
and blessed again
let not my wealth
become my prize –
tis less than I perceive
awaits my willing soul
some other dawn
take from me
take everything –
but what my hands recall
let that remain
to comfort me
the sweetest gift
of all
. . .
“We’re raising the bar on generosity, reminding ourselves
to hold our possessions lightly and open-handedly. The challenge
is to give away something that is precious to you, either in
value or significance, being willing to surrender it for someone
else’s benefit.” In doing so, we echo the lessons
of ten thousand kings – ‘everything comes from you’ ❤

If only more people adhered to this thought, Bobbie, the world would be a much happier place. ………xo
Maybe………… If we only took the time to reflect on our blessings, our troubles would disappear.
