Lovers cradled
breast to breast –
soldiers welcomed home.
Beds are made
to places we can’t see.
Seasons pass
as words to water –
long abandoned springs.
For every life
ten thousand more
within her bosom sleep.
Shield to shield
as kiss to kiss –
lips denied
their stories.
Songs no one remembers
– she sings to them
tonight.
its always a wonderful journet to see that someone remembers the songs so many have forgotten
or maybe they are afraid to sing ….
Take Care….

I’m sure, Maryrose. There are some songs that would sure cause us to fall apart………but even in the falling apart, we remember the joy that is the melody no one else could imagine. Thank you, dear one. ~ Love you so, Bobbie
Amazing. All your poems are simply amazing. Very glad I found this blog! Keep of the great work! 🙂
Oh, David……..I’m so glad you commented. Sometimes I wonder if there’s a computer working overtime to like everything and there’s no one behind the keyboard. I’m delighted to know you’re there and that you found me here. Truly, thank you. ~ Love, Bobbie
wonderful Bobbie. Some of us do remember and recall family members of the days before who sang those songs…I sing with them (and with you dear heart.) xox
Then I suggest we get a drum and some marching shoes!! We live as long as one remembers ~ as long as one can speak our name aloud. Thank you, Jeannie. I love you…… ~ Bobbie
Let every heart so sing odes of honor to our fallen ones who served for all of us!
Indeed, dear Rose. I am against war, but I am not against soldiers for I am certain Hitler would have ruled the world had it not been for boys and men willing to die to make sure that didn’t happen, willing to die so that we might speak out against war. Freedom is rarely free, and if you’re free, someone (somewhere) paid for you to have it. Let them be honored and let their loved ones know that the price was worth it…….. Thank you, Rose. ~ Love you, Bobbie
