tree lines
bend with shadows –
wrapped in summer fare
honeysuckle
mated with the vine
midnight swirls
of something shifts
backward to the black –
as gentle hands
remembered by the pines

freed again
to living – forgotten
now the ways
and just how cool
the dirt beneath my soles
running til the echo
meets me coming back –
into the place began
so long ago

red birds
raise the corners
and stretch the heavens wide
as waters pool
where beetles
first were seen
as bliss beyond the stillness
wakes to greet the sun –
rivers wash their sorrows
into green

angels sit in envy
for places I have touched
and words of silent meaning
grace my tongue
whispers fly
on pearly wings –
just above the pond
as beautiful
awaiting to become

clover sits
in four leaf sheets
and no one needs to count –
how soft the emerald reach
between my toes –
breezes grace the southern pass
turns beneath the canyon
sings the song
I hear by heart –
the only one I know
