if your tears would flow
to fill the empty oceans
I will dry them all
if your heart should ache
beyond words to remember
I will write for you
if your love were lost
within another’s promise
I would come for you
if the world stopped today
I would keep this memory safe
if my heart should cease believing
my soul will burn a candle
very beautiful haiku!!
🙂 thank you, Linda……….. I think haiku is one of those things that falls into the category of ‘proof that less can be more’. ~ Love, Bobbie
Eloquence in a few words! The progression gives a startling ending— is it just me, because at first I thought it was a person speaking to another person, but in the end, I perceive that it is a person’s soul speaking to oneself. This makes it even more beautiful and profound!
🙂 I think (I know) it’s both….. I think we know that there are times when we hold another up, when we nurture and protect another. And yet, there are times, when we are nurtured in turn. But, as you noted, it is our soul that understands, that witnesses, that remembers the way to home. Thank you, Dee. Thank you so very much. ~ Love, Bobbie
May your heart dodge harms
And return bearing her charms
To soul’s loving arms ~D
😉 I’ll take that as a sign! Thanks, Dan.
Words from deep within to lift the soul’s spirit to the heart’s need.
Beautiful, Bobbie. PJB
Just very very lovely…. xx
Thank you, V. ~ love, B
this is what love is Bobbie–you keep the vigil and “do” when the other cannot. Your words are a reflection of the love you carry within yourself and in the writing of them, should you ever forget, you have indeed lit a candle. xoxo
My darling, Jeannie……. I could ask for no greater honor than to know that someone came to understand love because of a word I whispered. You fill my heart with love! Thank you, Jeannie. ~ Much love, Bobbie
