from the answers
come the questions
what I’d give
for your embrace
secrets cradled in the darkness
tangled legs of loving grace
from the place
of unintended –
comes a map to all we know
where we’ll be
when evening gathers
to this golden afterglow
where you are
is where I’m going
one more day – another sun –
becomes the heart
I swore to honor
when my days –
at last are done
for every page
I left unstarted
ink to spare
and words too few
love becomes my soul salvation –
as longing reaches
for the truth
Smooth words, lovingly placed that embrace a heart wih its truth! Such a lovely poem Bobbie!
Thank you, Wendell………… I am so glad you like this since it took much of the evening on Saturday to come together. Thank you, my angel. ~ Love, Bobbie
“from the place
of unintended –
comes a map to all we know”——–truly a map of mystery and a map we must follow to find all our
spiritual kindred!
You’re so right, Rose….. There are things I know, and thinks I KNOW! Thank you. ~ Much love, Bobbie
Profound… the last three lines of the poem wrap the thought up perfectly. You have such a fluid mind. I’m in awe that you can write so quickly. How long does it take you to write a typical poem? With light, James.
Dearest James, when I look at those things that I’ve written that I love most ~ I know that there was never a pause at all in the writing ~ the only constraint was in how fast I could write. The more I think on words, the harder they are to find……….but if I just let go, they run me over like a herd of elephants! Thank you for your kindness. I am humbled. ~ Love, Bobbie
I think that of all the poems of yours I have read, this one, THIS one, touches the soul and spirit of loving like no other. It’s “soul talk” and you captured it! As you said in the comment before me to James, there is a distinct difference when the writing flows from within as opposed to crafting each and every word. I love, love, love this poem!
Jeannie, James had already made my day, and (look at you) you just made it even better! Every writer knows that you can stay up all night, with dictionaries scattered around you in search of the one word you need. For me, it’s a miserable journey………until at last I sleep. When I wake, it is there, like fairy dust from my lungs ~ all I meant to say with words exactly as they are meant to be. When that happens ~ WOW ~ it’s all you need of reassurance to your reason for writing to begin with. As I’ve often commented ~ words come and I let them. *sigh* I love that and I love you for loving this!!! Thank you so much. Love, Me
and in my mind and heart Bobbie, that is the best way to write. Absolutely. The key part is that you are listening!
I’m trying to catch up so I will get to your other newly posted writings before the night is through. xox
That first stanza pulled me straight in and the rest carried me through the journey to the end. Like you, I tend to just write whatever comes and rarely if ever plan or plot my poetry. Maybe I should do that more I’m not sure (!) but it works for me and it very clearly works for you!! Really enjoyed this one Bobbie.
……you and I know that you cannot plan what the heart and/or the soul wish to say……..you can only let their voices be heard……… Thanks, Vanessa. Love you, B
Love to you too Bobbie x
for the truth
And empties in to you…
…floats the river to my seas……….
