a thousand years
returning
another to endure
as twilight burned –
I can’t say for sure
whether I was yours
or you became
mine but for a night
a dream displaced
long before
daylight
before the plead
of morning
the rush of words to skin
was it the same
I knew you
as you knew me
then
you were there
when love became
the deepest want of all
– another life
beyond the
night birds call
whispered
into shadow –
the promise of goodbye
a thousand lives
surrendered
to a sigh
. . .
I would wish for “another life beyond the nightbird’s call”. 🍀🌹🍀
