how is it I know
(I can’t but I do)
the taste of your touch
in the morning
when streams of sunlight
warmed by your skin
settle in love’s mortal dew
how is it I know
(I can’t but I do)
the way that your hand
fits to mine
or body to body
heartbeats to one
breathless beginning all over
I wonder
I wander
some nights until dawn
how is it I know
(I can’t but I do)
Mmmmm… very nicely written…
Mmmmmmmm… thank you. 😉
You are very welcome!
This poem invites the imagination to leap and ascend. I love how your words wrap around the dizzying state of pure ideation of a very real partner, where through the heart’s purest element two souls connect, magnify and thereby soar upon a higher plane. I have felt that same pure melding of hearts on-high… but how wonderful it would be to have it materialize! With a smile. James.
Indeed! Although, I suspect the longer the wait, the greater chance for disappointment (or for spontaneous combustion) 😉 So very glad you like this, James. ~ Much love, Bobbie

mesmerizing thought — how streams of sunshine can be “warmed” by a lover’s skin! Delightful and utterly sweet poem!
