had I choice
of how life ends –
where destinies align
would someone write your name
with bits of mine
how far from then
this poet dreamed
with words
the heart might hear
of angels resurrected
for moments
here
could be no everafter
longing for these days
no paradise
could e’er suffice
to loving you
this way
had i choice
of heavens
a place
I’m sworn to be
some other dream
I dreamed
you’d come
for me
had I choice
of how life ends –
a version of the rest
I’d best believe
our destinies aligned
that gods were
having coffee –
one day amid the clouds
when someone wrote your name
with bits of mine
. . .
Ruin hath taught me thus to ruminate
That time will come and take my love away
This thought is as a death which cannot choose
But have that which it fears to loose
…..our mortal fallacy – we always think we have time
