had I known
the day was ending
and there would be
for me
no more
might I have loved
a little deeper –
for the loves
I’d known before
remaining with
my solace –
like a hurt
that wouldn’t mend
was a place
beyond the telling –
I would never be
again
. . .
This is wait other poetry dreams of being!

…ahh, but for the moment that can stretch to hold an eternity……..those which disobey the rules of time ❤
Each memory lives in eternity …
indeed……. A thread that breaks in a breeze. And yet a thread that cannot (will not) be broken.
I am also reminded that there comes a time when we hold things differently, fully, with sweet acceptance of the closing. And yet still aware of the passing – that perhaps our memories were teasing us along all the time….telling us what we wouldn’t believe.
What is made manifest remains written in our hearts always …
In retrospect, I think we all have places like this regrets and “I wished I hads” linger, Bobbie, especially during times like these. …….xo
…I understand, Paul, but I also know (have faith) in the path we are given, that it will lead us (always) back to love………..
