I’m not the one
who waited –
while you were lost at sea
the one who stood
atop the moor
and grieved each day
for thee
I’m not the one
who cursed your touch –
who begged the spirits rise
to bar your soul
the leaving
across a jealous sky
I’m not the one
who wore your name –
or bore your children’s pain
the one who whispered
lullabies –
with tears for each refrain
I’m not the one
for losing sleep –
resigned a life of letting go
I’m not the one
forgetting –
how I lived
and loved you so
. . .
Very sweet. Nicely written.
You are so very kind, Joseph. Thank you.
This is a classic Bobbie, some might find it simple, yet it’s depth, the meter, the song of the words, begs reading again and again … beautiful, magical, inspired!
❤ Thank you, Peter.
I’m always left mesmerized by your words. So, so beautiful.
You are far too kind, my friend. And I am beyond blessed in the process. ❤
This is beautiful Bobbie and carries so much within. I found myself reading it again, and again…like the return of the tides. ❤ xX
While writing this, I couldn’t help but think that we are in a perpetual state of beginning, ending, losing, leaving, loving, being born and dying. The joy (the most divine bliss) is in the surrender – in knowing that every love is the first, every touch – the first, every kiss – the sweetest of all……… ❤
Yes, accept and just let it be. Loving grace in each first. I love you Bobbie. ❤
Jane, though only my opinion, I find that most try to make love into something more (or in their view, it is more) than it is. They try to define and set rules around what it is, should be, or should act like. The truth is that love is simply that, and aspires to be nothing more (because there is nothing more). ❤ The now reverbs in every first – every only first!
Yes it’s all energy and asking too much of any energy will put a strain on it. No need for labelling, measuring or expectations….it is what it is…all firsts, ever circling. I love you Bobbie. ❤ xXx ❤
