Have been reading Henri Nouwen’s book The a Return of the Prodigal Son. In it he becomes absorbed, even obsessed with Rembrant’s painting / depiction of the scene. Through his reflection of the nuance of the artists hand and the interweaving of the depth of this parable, the meanings become deep and almost endless. I recently read an interpretation of the parable where the Prodigal son becomes closer to his father than the one who stayed. Like Adam and Eve we with be closer to our Father and the Kingdom upon our return, joyous shall be the day … This poem is beautiful work, from an artists hand …
