stay and tomorrow
will find us this way
near as a beat
to the other
someday
clearing a path
where no one has been
marked in the passing
remember me when
the trees
were but babies
and heaven this close
we touched
without touching
held on letting go
blossoms the color
of Eden removed
and you were my reason
for coming back new
to lie neath
a blanket
of evergreen flame
as one with the stars
called
by name
as shadows
revealing
the reasons we came
. . .
If trees connect the earth to the sky, then are they our pathway to heaven?
Their ancient branches are home to the red bird, the starling. And in their tiny beaks, they pull at the edges, the canopy which holds heaven…. Loving arms raised skyward in praise to dance….
Just let the words flow over me as I read them, not looking for any special messages or meanings. I just loved the feeling of it, and the poem, Bobbie. ……xo
And that’s good enough for me, Paul. In fact, it’s all the payment I ever need f words………to know they found a place.
Your words are such a beautifully enchanting serenade. One can only love you dearly when embraced by such lifting and inspiring words. They are always like a needed vitamin which energizes the heart and soul of one who eagerly embrace them. Simply beautiful Bobbie! Hugs!
